• 40-year career, with various roles across the government and higher education sectors and international diplomacy (former Deputy Chief Minister of the ACT and Industrial Relations, Economic Development, Employment and Tourism and Regulatory Reform Minister).
• Currently Deputy Chair Development Victoria, President of the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chair of Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute, Director of Common Equity Housing and Prahran Markets.
• Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a fellow of the Australian Institute of Management.

• BSc Monash University.
• Owns a commercial Rock Lobster fishing vessel, license and quota.
• Involved in advocacy for the Victorian Commercial fishing sector as a whole.
• Member/participation in several Fisheries Victoria sub-committees.
• Director (and Deputy Chair) of Seafood Industry Victoria and a Director of Southern Rock Lobster Pty Ltd and the President of the Victorian Rock lobster Association.

• 22 years of extensive sales and marketing experience working with the primary sector and with the exports of Tasmanian Seafoods Pty Ltd.
• Masters of Business Administration degree and a Bachelor of Science degree.
• Has held various managerial positions. Works closely with other abalone processors, abalone quota owners, and abalone divers in our Industry’s associations with (AAAI & VAPA) and SIV.
• Member of several Abalone Industry bodies and Director of Seafood Industry Victoria

Industry Director appointed by the AVCZ board in accordance with clause 9.7 of the Company’s constitution (casual vacancy), with the appointment being in place until the next annual general meeting.

• Founder and Managing Director at Kansom Australia Pty Ltd 1985 – Present (32 years) This innovative Company was founded in 1985 as an Asian Specialty Foods processor and marketer of Abalone and Sea Cucumber products. It quickly became a Brand Leader in Japan and other Asian markets.  The company began its life as Lonimar Australia Pty Ltd and was rebranded in 2008 as Kansom Australia Pty Ltd.  This was as a consequence of a Trade Sale of part of the business.
• Chairman at Fisheries Co-Management Council Victoria 1996 – 2001 (6 years)
  Statutory body (Fisheries Act 1995) advising the Agriculture Minister on all matters relating to Fisheries in the State of Victoria.
• International Sales Manager at SPC Ardmona 1977 – 1985 (8 years)
• International Sales & Marketing Manager Ship Chartering Officer at BHP Billiton 1968 – 1976 (8 years) Ship Chartering department responsible for chartering vessels to move BHP cargoes globally.

Industry Director, appointed to the Company upon incorporation 24 August 2015, having served on the interim board. Elected by members on 12 January 2016.

• Has been a Quota and Licence Holder for almost 20 years.
• Served on several industry bodies and contributed to the development of the Fisheries Act 1995 and the Fisheries Management Plan.

Industry Director appointed on 1 December 2015, elected by members on 12 January 2016. Resigned from the Board on the 10 January 2017 and reappointed to the Board on the 16 February 2017.
